I had been long-time fans of Tiffany (Tiffany Renee Darwish), she is an American singer who had a number of teen pop hits during the late 1980s.  My favorite Tiffany song is "If Love Is Blind" (Dreams Never Die), feeling blue ..
Here's a pretty good 36th birthday present - a return to the Billboard charts after an absence of 18 years (which in this case is exactly half a lifetime). I don't know how you wrap that kind of a present up, other than to report that Tiffany (born Oct. 2, 1971) debuts at No. 45 on Hot Dance Club Play with "Higher". This is her first appearance on any Billboard chart since the week of June 24, 1989, when her album "Hold an Old Friend's Hand" marked on The Billboard 200.
"Higher" saves Tiffany from one-hit-wonder status on the Club Play chart after 20 years. Until this week, her solitary entry on the Club Play survey was "I Think We're Alone Now," her No. 1 Hot 100 hit which peaked at No. 26 on the dance chart twenty years ago this month.
Tiffany's long awaited album, "Just Me", has been released on her new record label, Universal distributed 10 Spot Records. "Just Me" delivers a blend of pop and rock in a singer-songwriter style with a little country thrown into the mix. You can listen to clips of each track at Tiffany's official website.

Liking Jordin Sparks, American Idol's season six winner, comes instinctively. How many 17-year-olds are as self-possessed, as big-smiling, as committed to having a good time and keeping it real? Probably none. Liking Sparks' music has been a different story for fans anticipating her debut CD, though. Her gut-busting Idol performance of "I (Who Have Nothing)" was possibly her only prime-time goosebump generator, yet she's seen an instant progression to diva-dom, as chronicled in reports that found her heading into the studio alongside pop/R&B heavy-hitters Bloodshy, Avant, the Underdogs, and others. Was it a little soon for the relatively green Sparks to be throwing off such big-league, beat-heavy sparks? Well, not hardly, it turns out. The ballads here--songs like "Next To You" and "Just For the Record"--reach out at times with overeager sincerity (forgivable!), but the funkier numbers--"Young and In Love" and the Prince-flecked "Shy Boy," especially--slam home her positives. Jordin may still be a juvie, but she's a bona fide pop star. She earns her props as convincingly here as she did on TV.
