Set during the 16th century, Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power takes you back in time to Feudal Japan. It was during this time that the visionary Nobunaga Oda assembled the most advanced military force in Japan, and institute policies that stimulated the growth of the nation's economy. In the game, you'll assume the role of Nobunaga, or a rival warlord, in a quest to unite Japan under one rule. Master the art of diplomacy, win the support of the people, and train your army for war. Learn what it takes to control an empire and Japan could be yours.
Battles are divided into field battles and sieges. The field battle utilizes a 3D real-time combat system. You can mobilize a broad range of units including spearmen, cavalry, mounted infantry, and cannon troops. You can also use your fortresses and towers to attack and defend against enemy troops. Taking over these units will increase morale, and as a result, allow you to use special skills such as Counter and Charge. These skills will prove to be especially useful when outnumbered.
